Would you say you’re more organized than most people? Our client needs you! Will be responsible for filing and coordinating all surplus lines reports and taxes utilizing a knowledge of the laws governing surplus lines insurance business in various states. Will report directly to the principal of the company while working closely with the vice presidents, account managers and the accounting manager. This position requires extreme organizational skills and attention to detail. Will file surplus lines taxes on behalf of multiple companies in all 50 states. Coordination and completion of surplus lines tax filing confirmations/verification and affidavits required forms from states and forward to appropriate individual for signature/notary. Track billing of surplus lines taxes through our AMS 360 system to determine if surplus lines taxes have been properly billed and documented in accordance with state laws. Stamp policies within a 48-72 hour period from date of receipt. Maintain a log in Excel to track and assist with activities and state filings.

Requirement:

Proven ability to organize and manage time in order to meet specific filing deadlines. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Ability to evaluate current process and suggest improvements. Ability to interact with underwriters, retailers, state insurance departments, surplus lines offices and clients daily. Knowledge of Microsoft products, internet and computer skills a must. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Insurance. Accountant or CPA helpful but not required.
