Job Title : Ocean Marine Underwriting Technician
   Jobcode : 20796
   Description : Provide prompt, accurate administrative support to the underwriting teams. Enable the underwriting function to deliver the correct terms, pricing and documentation on a consistent and reliable basis. Ensure the provision of accurate statistics, relating to underwriting information, to the management team. Create, edit, investigate (DNBi) and keep a monthly log of all new business accounts via CRM (Software) and/or additional software ( i.e., Excel). Draft Policies, Confirmation of Insurance (COI), Letter of Evidencing(s) (Undertaking), and additional endorsements, via Guide Lite software. Maintain records for accounts in an orderly manner. Expedite mailing of incoming premium checks to specific parties and their respective departments. Create, maintain and edit renewal documentation and endorsements. Produce debit notes for renewals, any adjustments through the year, guarantee that the correct tax rates are calculated and applied where appropriate. Obtain declarations from members/brokers for any end of year adjustments. Ensure renewal questionnaires are sent to brokers in good time before renewal is due and ensure completed questionnaires are received in time to pass to the underwriters for renewal calculations. Maintain each member on the AS400, ensuring correct claims executives, sub categories, reinsurance allocations and member details are correct. Ensure claims are updated by the claims executives before renewal and send claims and record statements out to brokers. Ensure renewal checklists are signed and up to date before file is put back. Create CAT Maps for members with property and make sure these are passed to the appropriate administrator. Communicate with brokers and members to ensure any outstanding premiums are paid. Maintain files. Make sure any files required for auditing are up to date and handed to correct Auditors. Maintain the Guide renewal diary.
