Job Title : Reinsurance Analyst

   Description : Dynamic opportunity to join a ceded reinsurance team with a growing company! Individual will be responsible for timely preparation of ceded accounts, bordereau production and recording of ceded payable and recoverable amounts. Collection and settlement of outstanding balances due to/from the company. Reconciliation and analysis of related accounts to the general ledger. Review and interpret reinsurance contract and facultative certificate terms (Quota Share, Excess of Loss, aggregates, retentions, inuring coverages, exclusions, etc.). Assist in the monthly / quarterly close process, including preparation of various quarterly financial analyses.

   Requirement : BS/BA degree in accounting, finance or business. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Reinsurance Accounting Department of a property and casualty reinsurance intermediary, insurance or reinsurance company is preferred. Basic understanding of all functions pertaining to ceded reinsurance accounting is preferred. Basic knowledge of reinsurance contracts and the ceded reinsurance claim recovery process is preferred. Excellent PC skills; must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables & VLOOKUPS) and Access. Knowledge of PeopleSoft is highly desirable. Strong analytical, problem solving and technical skills.

Job Title : Ceded Reinsurance Accounting Manager

   Description : Looking for an exciting opportunity to “plant’ yourself and “grow” within this financially stable property and casualty insurance company. This position will not last and it is for you! Individual will work closely with the underwriting, claims and actuarial departments to ensure the proper interpretation and recognition of complex reinsurance agreements. Responsible for quarterly financial reporting, analysis and reconciliation of ceded reinsurance related accounts in support of GAAP financial statement preparation. Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley internal control documentation and review controls that are covered under the unit’s area of responsibility. Works closely with both internal and external auditors.

   Requirement : The successful candidate should have a BS/BA degree in accounting with 5-7 years of experience in a property and casualty insurance/reinsurance company with an advanced understanding of all functions pertaining to reinsurance accounting. Expert knowledge of reinsurance contracts and the reinsurance claim recovery process is required. A proven decision-maker, leader and manager. Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and be able to multitask in an ever changing environment. Proficient PC skills developed through extensive use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Access and Word in addition to experience and knowledge of accounting software; prior experience with PeopleSoft or TM1 preferred.
