Job Title : Senior Workers Compensation Claims Examiner / Risk Analyst - Temp

   Description : Oversee the handling of all aspects of the workers compensation process and claims assigned to the insurance carrier/TPA including but not limited to claim reporting, medical management, reserving, communication, documentation, litigation, negotiations, settlement, third party, etc. Build strong relationships with injured crewmembers, internal stakeholders and business partners to promote the delivery of services that meet or exceed expectations. Is the day to day contact for injured crewmembers, internal stakeholders and business partners. Ensure all claims conform to quality, production standards, jurisdictional requirements and company’s values. Ensures claim processing is consistent with applicable policies, procedures, department guidelines and company’s culture and values. Review reserves, settlements and all other financials aspects of the workers compensation claims within specified authority level. Complete regular quality audits of work, record results and counsel all stakeholders to bring work to or above standards. Prepare regular periodic reports and monitor system reports to ensure adherence to corporate and regulatory standards. Facilitate enhancement of risk management reports and dashboards which clearly convey vital statistics on loss data trends. Develop/enhance automation of these tools, leveraging knowledge of advanced visual reporting tools, and create interfaces with other tools and data sources as needed. Perform complex analytic projects across a broad set of stakeholders, clearly aligning on business and data needs, managing expectations and delivering results in a timely manner. Support the teams effort to continually improve workers compensation tools and techniques with an emphasis on automation. Establish and execute controls to assure that the quality of the work meets or exceeds standards. Review and analyze processes and procedures to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. Conduct regular in person workers compensation seminars, program training and be the leader in any change initiatives. Adhoc projects, support senior leadership on last minute requests.

   Requirement : College degree required. Business Administration degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years workers compensation claims experience at an insurance carrier and/or TPA. Minimum of 2 years of workers compensation claims supervisory experience. Strongly prefer an insurance designation i.e. AIC, CPCU, etc. (will consider a strong candidate who is in the process of obtaining or will obtain industry specific designations within 6 months of DOH). Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and database products. Ability to quickly acquire skills in other insurance software products as needed. License in appropriate jurisdictions or ability to obtai. Expert understanding of laws, medical procedures, financials, principles of coverage, liability and insurance industry in general, with specific emphasis on workers compensation. Leadership skills: ability to plan, multitask, organize, delegate and develop. Superior written/verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Must be able to handle several complex projects, initiatives and tasks simultaneously while operating in a fast paced high intensity environment. Available for occasional overnight travel (10%). Must pass a 10 year background check and pre-employment drug test. Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
